When breaking sand/gravel, bottom of block doesn't render.

What I expected to happen was that the bottom of the sand/gravel block would render. What actually happened was the bottoms disappeared.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Place down some sand/gravel blocks stacked on each other.
2. Break each block.
3. Watch how the bottoms of each block above disappear from your eyes!
