Game crashes when creepers explode

What I expected to happen was...:
Creeper explodes, causing damage to environment

What actually happened was...:
Game crash

Steps to Reproduce:
This seems to only happen when a creeper explosion happens in the vicinity of an extended piston; I fond this out when trying to farm Music Discs via pressure plate - piston trapping.
