Pumpkin/Melon stems rendering incorrectly

Melon stems and pumpkin stems are normally rendered as an X with two planes intersecting at 90 degrees. In the latest snapshot one of those planes is not rendering (or is rotated incorrectly). The result is a 2D stem in any configuration (attached and detached both show the same glitch).

It rendered correctly in 14w21b.
