Dark oak drops as oak, cannot be crafted, and crashes the game upon placing

When you chop dark oak it drops as a generic block. gets picked up as oak in the inventory, cannot be crafted, and, crashes the game upon trying to place the block.

To duplicate simply go to a dark oak tree and chop with an axe.
