Blocks flash while being destroyed

in survival mode only, when blocks are being destroyed, they disappear as if being destroyed, but reappear quickly,(this happens multiple times) then disappear after being destroyed, permanently. This happens in all environments. Version 1.7.9. this happened after downloading user made maps, then deleting them
