New Desert Caves causing random above ground structures

While exploring with a friend on my 14w21b Server we witnessed some bizarre sandstone/sand structures around the new Desert Caves, which we think involves the caves. the structures were mostly floating above the ground. We knew that every once in awhile odd floating structures would appear in deserts made of sandstone and sand but we saw far more of them and much larger, a few taking shapes of the caves nearby
