Cant start minecraft 1.6.4

I tried to start minecraft on version 1.6.4 via the launcher, however when it's all loaded it freezes on the launcher and stops doing anything.

I tried starting on the latest version which works just fine.

but the server I have doesn't support the latest version and beeds 1.6.4
I can't install forge due to this, and complicates things to the max.

I can't play on my own server now, that's rediculous.
