My Leader Boards were reset?

I have really enjoyed playing this game up to until this last update. After the last update I noticed that my leader boards were reset. This really upsets me due to the fact that i always have backed up mojang for resetting other people, for I know they tried cheating the system (modded maps). I've spent way to many Hours on this game for it to be null-in-void. Please help me understand the reasoning behind your decision to reset a loyal player.
