Door/Gate/Chest Sound Effects are Too Loud

The sound effect for opening doors or gates or chests is much louder than all other sound effects. This is particularly painful when increasing the overall volume necessary to hear softer sounds such as creeper footsteps. Then I open a door and I literally jump out of my seat it is so loud.
