Player stops moving on block click

This happens in both Survival and Creative, tested only in singleplayer, but whenever I go to destroy/click a block, it causes my character to stop moving, with me having to re-press the movement keys.

I'm hoping this isn't a permanent feature for minecraft, and that a similar report doesn't exist.
