Sunflower appears when breaking bottom of 2 block high grass

When breaking the bottom of the 2 block high grass, a sunflower top appears for a split second then disappears. Found this out in Survival.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Find or plant a 2 block high grass
2. Break Bottom
3.Observe the top.
