item frame placed behind button

What I expected to happen was...
that the game would not let me place an item frame behind a button like it did at one point.

What actually happened was...
Minecraft attempted to actually place the item frame and crashed. All further attempts to enter the world crash the game.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Place a button on a block.
2. Place an item frame on the same face of that same block
