Snapshot 14w18a itemframes crash the server

I put an item frame on a tree and the whole game crashed and went to the bug report screen.

What I expected to happen was...:

The game closed and went to the bug report screen.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. start a world in 14w18a
2. ... place an item frame on a viable surface (e.g. tree)
3. ... watch it crash.

I started a new default world. I placed an itemframe on a tree and my screen went white and the program closed going to the Minecraft bug report screen. I reloaded the world and the item frame was removed. I repeated adding an item frame multiple times and each time resulted in a crash. I did this with slimeblocks present and not present.
