Sheep drop different color wool than sheep color when sheared

What I expected to happen was...:
Red sheep I'd dyed before updating to 14w17a should keep giving red wool

What actually happened was...:
Red sheep gave orange wool, consistently. I then dyed a sheep yellow in 14w17a, and it gave blue wool, consistently. I bred a red and a yellow sheep, and it produced an orange sheep which gave red wool, consistently. The red wool that I'd already collected before updating to 14w17a did not change, however (I had some placed in the world, and some in a chest, all within 50 blocks of the sheep).
