Minecraft 1.4.6 menu screen freeze

When I open up the MC launcher, I login and then get to the title screen. Then everything freezes. MC proceeds to take up all my processor power and make my computer run really slow, I basically have to shut it down by ending the process in Task Manager.

I'm going to have to downgrade to 1.4.5 until this is resolved. It works flawlessly.
