When sleeping in a bed and when you have a compass

When you sleep in a bed, bed should set your spawnpoint, right?In 1.4.6 MP bed sets your spawnpoint but the compass doesn't work how it must work.That means the compass doesn't point to the bed...Sorry for my bad english.
