old and fresh java

had java 1.7.0_51 uninstalled it. installed java 1.7.0_55. all versions of minecraft crash after the mojang logo. both vanilla and modded. worked fine a few weeks ago. other than a few non-java based games installed nothing has changed on my computer. i'm sure it's something wrong with my computer but i dont know what.
