Entities team-color/scoreboards not showing?

Description:
While having an entity on a team it's name isn't displaying the entities teams color.

How I came to finding it:
I was messing around trying to add a pet of other sorts in vanilla, and I succeeded to do so but when I thought, "Let me add it to a team so it can have a colorful display name!" It didn't work, also when I use scoreboard to set to see it's kills or health under it's name nothing ever displays under it or changes team color.
