Teleporting to an entity makes you face up afterward

I made a portal gun in Minecraft, and, I know, many people have done it before. So my problem here is that, when you teleport, you face up after teleporting.
What I expected to happen was that I would be facing in the same direction as before. I haven't gone fully into testing this yet with teleporting to coordinates or players yet, but I will soon.
