Painting + Map in Frame vanishes

If I'm going to remove the painting from a stone wall, it vanishes most of the time. (8 times out of 10)
This even happens with a map in a frame, if I click on the frame so that the map got released.

I searched the area very wide, but the items aren't there in any direction. It simply

I'm guessing, from watching closely, either the frame or the chest causes this, if the Painting or Map drops on them. But don't wanna bring you on a wrong path.

Update: If I do the same stuff as described earlier in the text, on a deep layer like layer 10 (Y-coord), I saw the map laying on the layer to the first appearance of airblocks (overground) in a radius about 8 - 16 blocks.
