Iron Trapdoors

Iron Trapdoors doesn't update if placed AFTER a redstone torch

I expected that the trapdoor would flip upwards

What happend was NOTHING.

1. Place two blocks ontop of eachother
2. Put a torch on the side of the top block
3. Put an Iron Trapdoor on the bottom block.

that is supposed to have an "flip" effect right?
NOTE the wodden trapdoor doesn't flip either.
