Excessive performance failure on minecarts

After a short while of riding on a minecart even short distances the performance literally drops to 1 frame every 3-5 seconds. Even closing "save and quit" to main menu, the game will continue to lag at this rate in other worlds too. Some kind of dirty code is going nuts and needs fixing.
