14w11a mushroom bug

When i was in survival i found a swamp biome. Be curious as i am i went and explored it. to my suprise i found a TON of mushrooms more than usual. I don't know if this is a bug or just something mojang added to the game to make mushroom soup easier to make, or im just having a dumb blond moment...
