20 tick per second command block timer lag

Making a vertical 20 tick per second clock with command blocks creates extreme lag. A horizontal 20 tick per second clock does not have these issues.

Example:
X-setblock ~ ~-1 ~ redstone_block
O-air/redstone block
X-setblock ~ ~1 ~ air

Edit: Horizontal clocks creating extreme lag too. Client restart solved the issue.
