Minecraft crash

What I expected to happen was...:
Take a torch

What actually happened was...:
Instant crash

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Torch on top of a upper oak wood slab
2. Hit torch bare hand standing 1 block diagonal from it
3. Pick the torch a fraction of second later
4. Instant crash
5. Relog having the +1 torch in inventory and a extra floating nearby

Others:
Running the snapshot, not modded, multi player through Hamachi, server did not crash and continued working, only minecraft crashed due to random whatever error, REAL details should be in the crash report, i can only explain the randomness of what i was doing in game on the moment.
