nether portal texture pack pink and black checker borad

I was so proud of my first texture pack and I wanted to go to the nether I was finished the portal.Then I lighted up the portal I expected a cool shady purpule wall but it was pink and black checker borad when entering the nether the game starts to freeze every 5 minutes netherrack and sandsoul has no effects to the glitch
