Can't write ~ in the Chat (Mac OS X Problem)

Can't write ~ in the Chat!

Try to do the command: /summon Item ~ ~3 ~ <=== I have to copy the ~!
On Windows it will work perfectly !
but not on Mac!

Thanks Mojang, try to fix it!
