Xp orbs dont show instantly

in previous versions of minecraft when you mine an ore or when you kill a mob, xp orbs pop up instantly, now when you mine an ore or when you kill a mob your xp goes up, but xp orbs dont pop up inmediately, this is happening since 1.5.1
