Barrier icon in Creative mode lasts after block is broken

Hello!
I was playing on my world, did a /give barrier, and got a barrier. I placed it, and the icon showed up, and I destroyed the barrier. The icon lasted for a few more seconds, and disappeared. Please fix this little bug!
