Minecraft thinks my character is somewhere else while trying to use a boat

After the update to 14w06b I have to jump to place a boat and even then it is full of water. My boat breaks on land masses randomly that I am nowhere near. The game is basically acting like I'm in a different location than I am. This is in a single player game. I open the game on my LAN to play with a friend and he has the same issues. I created a new single player game to test if the problem persisted and it did.
