Sleeping above bed

When sleeping I appear to be 1 block higher than I should be. My bed is on the floor in the centre of a room which is 3 blocks high and when I sleep I am up against the ceiling. This is a little hard to explain further as 3rd person doesn't work while sleeping (at least I don't know how to get that view).
