Barrier & Light texture stays when broken / takes time to display when holding barrier or light in creative mode

The Bug

When the barrier block or light block is broken while holding the barrier or light as an item in creative, the texture stays for a while after breaking it.

Steps to Reproduce

• Switch into creative mode and give yourself a light or barrier block.

   /give @s minecraft:barrier
   /give @s minecraft:light
  

• Ensure that your "particles" setting is set to either "All" or "Decreased", as a result of MC-47607 and MC-221558.
• Place down the barrier/light block.
  → Notice how the barrier/light particles take some time to display.
• Break the barrier/light block.
  → Notice how the barrier/light particles take some time to display.

Expected Behavior:

The expected behavior would be that barrier and light particles would not take some time to display and disappear whilst in creative mode.
