Despawning Mobs

It used to be, if there was a mob with a name tag, it was unable to despawn no matter how far away you got. Now, if you name a mob it can despawn if you get to far away. It also works if the mob if holding an item. Eg: Mob named "Dinnerbone", or a mob holding a carrot.
