Chest/Low Ceiling Impassable wall

Attempting to walk from a chest with a three block or higher ceiling above it to a regular block with a two block ceiling above it is impossible; in the picture it is possible to walk from the chest on the right to the block of wool adjacent to it, with the chest on the left it is not. Issue not necessarily exclusive to versions given.
