Wooden blocks catching fire from lava through glass

I had a 3 x 3 tower of glass with lava going through the center with a wooden staircase wrapped around it, after some time the staircase caught on fire. I have created this same setup in earlier versions and did not get the same outcome. Not sure if this is intended or not.
