Teleporting to a previous position while rotating

I was using the ability to rotate players using the tp command. I had the command configured so that I would turn 10 degrees right, essentially forcing me to walk in circles. When I was flying around, I would randomly teleport to a previous position, kind of like on some servers if you try to fly, but don't have permissions.

What I expected to happen was...:
For me to continue flying at the same pace, without teleporting backwards.

What actually happened was...:
I would continue to teleport to a previous position.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Take a command block and enter: /tp @p ~ ~ ~ ~10 ~
2. Hook up the command block to a comparator clock (See image)
3. Try to fly around, and land
4. Notice that you will teleport back frequently
