Performance and Graphics

After 1.7.2, the game has a major performance problem, and the graphics are all blurry. I can still just go back to 1.7.2 and play on that, but I would like to try the snapshots without killing my eyes.

It's as if all the crisp and clear textures, have just been duplicated a tenth of a millimetre beside the original picture. My eyes can't stand it, to say the least.
I have tried to use different external screens and/or resource packs, but still the same problem.
And the Llll--aa-ggg-gg-g .. outch!

I have perfect 20/20 vision, but can't make out any difference in the MineCraft screenshots, so no examples.. sorry

Thanks for a magnificent game, though. Love what I've seen of the snapshots
