Minecarts

What I expected to happen was...:
when getting into a minecart I thought the food bar and health bar would appear normally.
What actually happened was...:
the food bar was non-existant while riding in the minecart
Steps to Reproduce:
1. right click to get into a minecart
2. look at the food bar as it is not there
