i cant play online

i opened the lancher and it said play offline but im connected to the internet
What I expected to happen was...:

minecraft would open normaly
*What actually happened was.
the lancher opened and said play offline but im connected to the internet
Steps to Reproduce:
1.open minecraft
2. ...see if your connected to the internet
3. ...if it says play offline you got the bug
