While moving in game editing a block(placing, breaking, only) you stop moving

When walking in any direction, flying in any direction, descending with shift, THEN placing or breaking a block, you stop where you are.

What happened was: When making player based movement then placing/breaking a block while still moving, I stop moving.

What I expected to happen was:
To carry on moving the direction I made my player go without being affected by the placing/removal of blocks

Steps to reproduce:
1. Go onto any world or server
2. Start moving (flying, descending, walking, sprinting, jumping)
3. While moving, place or remove a block.
