Can no longer walk/fly while placing blocks

I'm sure that this has been reported, but when I place a block while moving, I stop dead in my tracks. This has been an annoyance since 1.4.5 came out.

How to reproduce:
1) Fly or walk.
2) Place block.
3) Stop moving and having to tap the forward key again.
