Minecraft crashed when i tryed to play a map.

What I expected to happen was..

What I expected to happen was that whan i launched Minecraft, it would be online and i would be able to play my map i downloaded
What actually happened was...:

What actually happened was that when i launched Minecraft, it said it failed to get the page because of a windows socket issue. Then, when i selected play ofline, it loaded the main menu page with the single and multiplayer page, so i went to paaly a map i downloaded and it crashed.
