Game begins to load but fails to download certain files

What I expected to happen was...:
the game loading itself and running.

What actually happened was...:
files didn't download and the game suffered a crash.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Selected my 1.7.2 profile (plain 1.7.2 version)
2. Click play.
3. Watch as the screen says it can't download files and eventually shows crash report.
