Breaking a block beneath a flower pot with an item in it drops double

Either in creative or survival, breaking a block with a flower pot on top of it with a flower in the pot, drops double items in the flower pot.
I tried this with cactus, it dropped 2 cactus instead of one.
I tried this with a jungle sapling, it dropped 2 saplings.
