Crafting "right click" does not use button assigned in options

Steps to reproduce:
1) Go to "Controls" menu
2) Under "Gameplay" change the "Use Item/Place Block" button
3) Go to a crafting table
4) Take a stack of "Wooden Planks"
5) Try and place only one wooden plank onto the crafting table by pressing the newly set "Use Item/Place Block" button
6) It will not place a single block

The same thing happens when trying to "cut" a stack of a item in half.

Expected:
Changing the key settings in Controls should also include these actions.

I came upon this because right clicking broke on my mouse, so I switched it to my other mouse button. I could not find any other similar ticket.
