when exiting boat, you apear about 4x and 4 y away from where you should

when i exit a boat it places me about 4*4 cells away from where i'm supposed to (beside the boat).

this is very disconcerting and not how it should be. I've actually apeared on the other side of a wall.

I can force it to place me nearer to the point i expect to leave, by placing blocks where its exiting me from the boat (the place that's 4*4 cells away)
if i fill that area with like dirt blocks then i appear in a more appropriate position
