world randomly dissapears leaving only animals, signs, torches, etc.

when i play minecraft in creative mode (not tested in survival) it randomly glitches and makes everything blur then all the textures dissappear leaving only animals, signs, torches, etc. then it crashes

What I expected to happen was...:
to be able to play minecraft smoothly and with out crashes

What actually happened was...:
minecraft glitched and crashed

Steps to Reproduce:
1. play minecraft on linux mint 15
2. play until glitch shows up (may take a while)
3. glitch will show up randomly with out being triggerd by something
