crash upon shift clicking higher level maps from crafting table to inventory

What I expected to happen was...:
I would have a level 2 map in my inventori when i shift clicked

What actually happened was...:
minecraft crashed

Steps to Reproduce:
1. create and activate a map
2. put it in a crafting table and surround it with paper
3. shiftclick it into your inventory
