Bed Block Screwed Up?

I was in my bed in minecraft single player survival and when I woke up, the bed block seems to be messed up. I realised, this also affects the compass. The compass does not lead you back to your 'home' where you slept in your most recent bed.

Recreating this Incident:

1. Go on single player survival (that's where I experienced the bug)
2. Create a bed and sleep in it when it is night.
3. When you wake up, look at the bed block.
