I was trying to use the LAN feature on my mac to connect to my friends windows computer and I could see LAN worlds he shared, But couldn't join them and he couldn't see ones I made at all. Please help!

would refuse to join

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Take a mac running osx lion
2. Try to connect a LAN world between mac and windows 8 computer
3. Will not work. Observe the bugginess of it all.
